How are drone inspections important to visual inspections?
Drone inspections allow us to collect digital imagery and thermal data and inspect assets from the safety of the ground. No one has to climb a ladder or scaffold to detect issues like corrosion and rust or water accumulation that are only visible from high elevations.
What makes drone inspections a safe choice?
A range of industries require visual inspections as part of routine safety and maintenance procedures, but visually inspecting some equipment requires personnel to place themselves in harm’s way. It doesn’t make sense to climb multiple stories to inspect a weld when it could be done just as accurately from the ground. Drone inspections allow experts to identify cracks and anomalies in chimneys and flare stacks without ropes or scaffolding. We can evaluate whole tank farms without climbing to the top of a single one.
Are drone inspections cost-effective?
Yes. Drone inspections typically require zero downtime and no shutdowns. Drone inspections require fewer man-hours, less equipment, and fewer safety measures, so they cost less than physical visual inspections. We can inspect a large area in a single time frame for a more efficient, more cost-effective inspection solution.
