My name is Heather Mackay. I immigrated with my family from Canada to the USA as a child and grew up in Houston, Texas.

My life before University was consumed by competitive swimming and gymnastics, which helped shape my work ethic and strong drive to succeed. I also loved spending summers at the beach and long days out sailing!

These passions carried over when I left the USA for Australia in 2011 and began a career in Occupational Health and Safety.

My overseas professional experience included a variety of HSESQ positions with EPC companies on Oil & Gas projects in the APAC region, in addition to a multimillion-dollar LNG pipeline mega project based out of Northern Territory, Australia. As business slowed due to shutdowns during the Pandemic, I transitioned into FMCG and took on the role of Corporate H&S Coordinator (Supply Chain) for Kimberly-Clark Australia/New Zealand. My time spent in Australia was truly unforgettable but by 2021, my family back home was beckoning!

Upon learning the exciting news that my first grandbaby was due in early 2022, I packed up my life, migrated to the southern USA, and currently manage EHSQ systems and compliance for InServe Mechanical Integrity Group.

I am also a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), Women in Safety Excellence (WISE), Women in Safety and Health (WISH), and studying for the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation…not to mention now the proud and happy “Gi-Gi” of little Miss Chandler Rose!
