FAQs

Frequently Asked
Questions

Every facility, organization, or agency has unique needs when it comes to inspections. We’ve answered a few of the most common questions about above coatings and linings here, but our experts are standing by ready to hear about your project.

Why do storage tanks need protective coatings and linings?

Much of the time, storage tanks are made of steel, a metal that corrodes when exposed to water. While manufacturers consistently announce new innovations in construction materials, there’s not yet a pressure vessel on the market that doesn’t deteriorate. Protective coatings and linings slow corrosion, erosion, pitting, and other forms of deterioration that dramatically reduce the lifespan of typical storage tanks.

How do protective coatings and linings work?

Experts apply an impermeable barrier to the inside and outside of storage tanks to prevent moisture and other deteriorating factors from affecting steel. The protective coating or lining might be made of zinc rich primers, synthetic polymers, epoxies, or other substances depending on the tank’s use.

How can corrosion control coatings consulting help me choose the best option?

Our experts weigh factors like abrasion, the need for compatibility with cathodic protection, the facility owner’s requirements for exterior appearance, operating temperature, impact, and chemical resistance, and other needs to select the most appropriate coatings and linings for the project.

Where do you offer services?

We provide tank linings and inspections, corrosion control coatings consulting, certified NACE coatings inspections and holiday testing throughout the United States and in Canada.
